East Brunswick Convenience Store Sold Hash, Pot And More: Police

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — You could definitely get a little more than hot coffee and lotto tickets at this East Brunswick deli, police say. An East Brunswick convenience store was selling marijuana, edible marijuana gummies, THC cigars, THC vapes and hashish, police said, and the store was raided last Thursday by East Brunswick police.
Local law enforcement executed a search warrant at the Pit Stop convenience store at 234 Old Stage Road (near the Summerhill Road intersection) last Thursday, May 18 after a two-month investigation into the business. The shop owner, Utkarsh Makwana, 26, of Monroe, had been selling marijuana, edible marijuana gummies, THC cigars, THC vapes and hashish wax out of the convenience store, police said.

During the course of the investigation, Makwana was also found to be in possession of a stun gun.
While police were raiding the store, [Name Withheld], 19 of Parlin and [Name Withheld], 19 of North Brunswick, were found with marijuana in the parking lot, police said.

In addition to $3,300 cash seized, approximately $5,000 worth of marijuana, THC oils, edible marijuana gummies and hashish wax was seized along with about $10,000 worth of drug paraphernalia. Makwana was arrested and charged with multiple drug counts, as well as drug distribution near a school zone.
