East Brunswick District Hosts Free Healing-Centered Training For Parents Tuesday
The session will focus on how relationships and community support can protect children from the effects of adverse childhood experiences.
EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — Parents and caregivers in the East Brunswick School District are invited to a free training Tuesday on how childhood experiences shape brain development and lifelong well-being.
The event, hosted by East Brunswick Parent University in partnership with Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care, will feature the "Connections Matter" curriculum, a healing-centered program focused on developing healthy brains, supportive relationships and stronger communities.
The training will be held Tuesday, from 7 to 8 p.m. at the JoAnn Magistro Performing Arts Center, 100 Rues Lane. Participants will be entered to win a $25 gift card.

The one-hour session will cover how Adverse Childhood Experiences, known as ACEs, affect brain development, how caring relationships can serve as a buffer against the effects of trauma, and how communities can become more resilient and healing-centered.
The program also emphasizes Positive Childhood Experiences, or PCEs, as a tool for promoting healthy development.
