East Brunswick: Duo Entered Cars in Pine Ridge Park Development

Police arrested a man and woman who were staying in the Motel 6 off Rt. 18 and then breaking into cars in the Pine Ridge Park development.

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — East Brunswick police say they arrested a man and woman who were staying in the Motel 6 off Rt. 18 and then walking into the Pine Ridge Park development and breaking into cars.

At 4 a.m. last Wednesday, Oct. 10 an East Brunswick resident called 911 to report that his doorbell camera recorded a suspicious person in his yard and near his cars. Police responded to the area of Pine Ridge Park and located Cateara Hamilton, 27, of Florida, walking in the neighborhood with a large plastic bag full of loose change in her possession.

A further search of the area resulted in officers locating Wesley Brissett, 31, of New York, hiding in the rear of a home. Brissett was also found to have property from neighborhood motor vehicles in his possession, police said.

Both were arrested and the investigation was turned over to Investigative Division. Further investigation revealed that both suspects had been staying at Motel 6, walked into the neighborhood in the area of the Pine Ridge Park development and burglarized at least seven motor vehicles.

Hamilton and Brissett were charged with burglary, and police said illegal drugs were found on them, as well.

The East Brunswick Police Department is asking anyone who resides in the Pine Ridge Park development to contact Detective Kim DiParisi if they were also a victim of any car break ins during this timeframe. Detective DiParisi can be reached at 732-390-6990.
