East Brunswick Honors Lt. Donald Carruth On His Retirement After 21 Years of Service

Carruth began his career at the East Brunswick Police Department on May 31, 2002.

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ - Lt. Donald Carruth, of the East Brunswick will be retiring soon after serving the township for 21 years.

On Monday, Council recognized Carruth for his dedicated service to residents by presenting him with a resolution.

Carruth began his career at the East Brunswick Police Department on May 31, 2002. He was assigned as a Patrolman in the Department of public safety.

Over the span of his long career, Carruth served as Sergeant; Lieutenant in the Operations Division – Patrol Section; Detective in the Investigative Division with the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Task Force; and as a Lieutenant in the Investigative Division.

Reading from the resolution, Council President Kevin McEvoy said Carruth “demonstrated throughout his career a strong devotion to the qualities of professional policing, dedication to the community he served with, in addition to providing quality supervision to those officers who served under his command.”

Thanking the Council for the honor, Carruth said he did not expect it. “It’s been an honor and a privilege to serve the citizens of this township. I’m going to miss this place and miss everybody that works here,” Carruth said. “I really, really appreciate this and I'm really flattered.”
