East Brunswick To Impose Time-Limit Parking On This Street

Commuters often park their cars on this street before taking the train to NYC. This is set to change.

EAST BRUSWICK, NJ – Commuters to New York City who usually park their cars on this township street, will now have to find an alternative parking spot.

The township will be imposing time-limit parking on Willow Street to discourage commuters from parking their cars all day, while they travel to NYC on work.

During the last council meeting an ordinance was introduced to impose the time limit.

According to Business Administrator Joe Criscuolo, Lt. Gordon of the East Brunswick Police Department recognized that some people were parking on certain sections of the street in order to commute to the city. He recommended that the township impose a two-hour time limit.

“We have two parking decks that have available space, this was the work with the residents in that community so that the road wasn’t just filled with cars,” Criscuolo said.

From 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day, except Sundays and holidays, no one will be allowed to park on Willow Street for more than 120 minutes, according to the ordinance. The imposition starts from the curb line of Arthur Street to a point 300 feet north and south of Willow Street.

The ordinance will go into effect 20 days after the final passage and adoption.
