East Brunswick Library Launches ‘Food For Fines’ Program

Residents can have their fines waived or get a replacement library card by donating food.

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — The East Brunswick Public Library has come up with a fine way to dismiss library fines while supporting local food banks this holiday season.

The library has launched the “Food For Fines” program this December. Residents can have their fines waived from the East Brunswick Public Library account or get a free replacement card by donating non-perishable food. The program is on through Dec. 30.

They can have a maximum of $24 waived ($3 for each item donated). However, fees for lost or damaged materials cannot be forgiven through this program.
