East Brunswick: Man Chased Boy Getting Off School Bus, Cops Say
East Brunswick police are investigating a scary incident where a boy said he was approached and then chased by a man Monday afternoon.

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — Update: Police announced on Thursday, Oct. 4 that this incident is not suspicious and that the man is visiting from another country and has family in the area.
The East Brunswick Police Department is investigating a suspicious incident in which a juvenile boy reported being chased by an adult man after getting off his school bus Monday, Oct. 1.
The incident occurred on Monday, October 1 at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Willow Street between Arthur and New streets in East Brunswick Township. The boy told police that immediately after he got off the school bus a black man, who looked to be about 30 and wearing a long-sleeved white shirt and blue jeans, asked him what his name was.

The juvenile immediately ran from the unidentified man, who started chasing after him. The man gave up the chase in the area of New Street. The suspect was last seen walking north on Old Bridge Turnpike on the South River borough side.
Patch asked, but East Brunswick police declined to release the age of the boy.

East Brunswick police added extra patrols in the area, and detectives are investigating. But they also ask that anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the East Brunswick Police Investigative Division at 732-390-6990.
