HAZLET, NJ — An East Brunswick man was arrested as part of a longstanding police investigation into a spa secretly operating as a prostitution business in Hazlet, police say.

Hazlet police started investigating New Look Spa at 1222 Highway 36 in January of this year after they said they received numerous reports of "illegal acts" occurring at that location. Hazlet police visited the spa multiple times during the months of January and February.

On Feb. 16, a 66-year-old-man from East Brunswick was arrested and charged with engaging in prostitution, police said.

Police did not release any of the mens' names.

Most recently, on Thursday, March 15, Hazlet police raided the spa with a prostitution search warrant. One employee, Mei Shu Jin, 47, of Brooklyn, was arrested and charged with prostitution. She was released on her own recognizance.

All four arrested were released on criminal summonses.

The Monmouth County Board of Health is also investigating potential health code violations at the spa. Hazlet police say they are in the process of revoking their business license, as well.
