East Brunswick Man Hits Pedestrian On Ryders Lane
A pedestrian was struck at 7:11 a.m. Monday trying to cross the extremely busy Ryders Lane, police said.

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — A pedestrian was struck at 7:11 a.m. Monday morning trying to cross the extremely busy Ryders Lane, East Brunswick police announced. The pedestrian had to be taken to Robert Wood Johnson for a hip injury and the East Brunswick man who hit him was ticketed, police said.
East Brunswick police responded to a call of a pedestrian struck at the intersection of Dunhams Corner Road and Ryders Lane this past Monday morning. The accident investigation revealed that a 2016 Mercedes Benz, driven by Gui Song of East Brunswick, was traveling eastbound on Dunhams Corner Road, attempting to turn northbound onto Ryders Lane.
At that same time, a pedestrian was crossing Ryders Lane in the crosswalk at the intersection with Dunhams Corner Road. Song failed to observe the pedestrian in advance and as a result struck the person, police said.

The pedestrian was transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital for a hip injury. Song was issued summonses for careless driving and failure to yield to a pedestrian within a marked crosswalk.
The roadway was closed for approximately an hour during the investigation.
