East Brunswick Man Sentenced In Child Pornography Case
An East Brunswick was sentenced to five years in federal prison.

An East Brunswick was sentenced Thursday to five years in federal prison for sharing images of child sexual abuse from his home computer, authorities said.
Armia Alber, 29, was ordered by U.S. District Judge Stanley R. Chesler to serve 60 months in prison and another five years of supervied release upon completion of that prison term, a news release from Paul J. Fishman, the U.S. Attorney for Newark, said.
Alber had entered a guilty plea in Newark federal court to distributing child pornography over the internet, the news release said.

According to documents filed in the case and statements made in court:
Alber admitted that between March and July 2013, he was part of an online peer-to- peer file sharing network, and he had more than 600 illegal images or videos.

He made images and videos available for other members to download from his “shared” folder.
On July 25, 2013, federal law enforcement agents executed a search warrant at his home, where they seized two computer hard drives that contained images and videos of child pornography.
As part of his plea agreement, Alber agreed to forfeit the computers and computer accessories he used to commit the crime.
He must also register as a sex offender.
Fishman credited special agents of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), under the direction of Acting Special Agent in Charge Kevin Kelly, for their work on the investigation.
He also thanked the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office and the East Brunswick Police Department for their assistance.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Josh Hafetz handled the case for the government.
