East Brunswick Man Struggles With Teens Breaking Into Truck: Cops
An East Brunswick homeowner struggled with two teens attempting to break into his pickup truck early Tuesday morning, Feb. 12, police said.

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — An East Brunswick homeowner struggled with two teenagers early Tuesday morning, Feb. 12, as the teens were attempting to break into his pick-up truck, police said.
According to East Brunswick police, the incident happened at approximately 1 a.m. Tuesday morning, Feb. 12 on Oak Street in the township: The homeowner called 911 after he said he saw two suspects breaking into his pickup truck.
The truck owner said he confronted the suspects, who fled the area on foot after getting into a brief struggle with him.

Descriptions of the teens were broadcast to responding units, who apprehended the teen boys at short time later near Old Matawan Road and Emerson Street. The suspects, Damien Ruiz, 19, of East Brunswick, New Jersey and a 17-year-old juvenile were charged with burglary, criminal mischief, simple assault and conspiracy.
Ruiz was lodged at the Middlesex County Adult Correctional Center while the juvenile was released to a guardian.
