East Brunswick To No Longer Use Nixle, Partners With CivicReady

Beginning Jan. 1, 2021 all emergency and township notification will be sent via CivicReady, said the police department.

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ – Beginning Jan. 1, 2021, East Brunswick township will no longer use Nixle for emergency and township notifications, the police department said in a statement. The township has instead partnered with CivicReady for send out its notifications.

CivicReady Mass Notification System is a free service available to keep all residents, business owners, and the surrounding community. The system will be used to issue urgent notifications, critical information, emergency instructions, public safety warnings, and other communications to subscribed users via phone call, text message and/or email.

The police department has asked all current Nixle subscribers to register with CivicReady to continue receiving emergency and township notifications after Dec. 31.
