East Brunswick Is Organizing A Soup Drive To Help Seniors

Residents can drop off cans of soup to help seniors fight food insecurity during the winter months.

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ – East Brunswick is coming together for a soup drive, to help local seniors fight food insecurity during the winter months.

“Soup For Seniors” is a winter food drive where township residents can drop off cans of soup at CareOne East Brunswick Assisted Living.

The pandemic has exacerbated the need for food for many. According to the National Council of Aging, around 5 million adults who are 60 and above rely on SNAP to make ends meet. But very few of them are enrolled in the program and the pandemic could be especially hard on them in the coming few months.
