East Brunswick Police Participate In Special Olympics Torch Run
The 'Flame of Hope' traveled a distance of nearly 750 miles throughout the Garden State, making a stop at East Brunswick.
EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — As most of the smoke and haze from the Canadian wildfires cleared up on Friday, officers from the East Brunswick Police Department stepped out for a very special event.
Members of East Brunswick Police joined other law enforcement agencies and participated in the 40th annual NJ Law Enforcement Torch Run for the Special Olympics New Jersey.
The aim of the torch run is to raise awareness and funds for the NJ Special Olympics.

“Annually thousands of dedicated and compassionate law enforcement officers carry the "Flame of Hope," symbolizing courage and celebration of diversity. The Law Enforcement Torch Run raises over $3 million annually for Special Olympics New Jersey,” the police department said on Facebook.
Over 3,000 officers carried the "Flame of Hope" through their local communities on one of 26 separate routes. The torch traveled a distance of nearly 750 miles throughout the Garden State, according to the Special Olympics.
