East Brunswick: PSE&G Will Reimburse You For Spoiled Food
PSE&G will reimburse residents for spoiled food and medicines, due to power outage during Isaias. Claims can be filed until September 16.
EAST BRUNSWICK — PSE&G New Jersey announced on Tuesday that it will reimburse residents who lost food and medicine due to power outage during Tropical Storm Isaias. The storm knocked out power for more than 575,000 New Jersey customers.
“We recognize that losing power in August, together with the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, was a hardship for many of our customers,” said PSE&G President Dave Daly in a statement.
The utility announced it will reimburse residential customers up to $250 for lost food, and a maximum of $300 for spoiled prescription medication. Residents will need to provide proof of loss.

The reimbursement is available to those who lost power for 72 hours or longer between August 4t and 12th.
Residents filing food spoilage claims under $150 must provide an itemized list. Those claiming more than $150 must also provide proof of loss like credit card or store receipts, or photos of spoiled items.

Claims can be filed until September 16, 2020. Reimbursement claims will not be processed over the phone.
