EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — Members of the local Cub Scouts were recently recognized by the mayor and council for completing all the requirements to earn the rank of Arrow of Light Award - which is the highest rank in cub scouting.

At the council meeting held on Monday, the Cub Scouts along with their families were present to receive their proclamation from Mayor Brad Cohen.

Before presenting the proclamation, Cohen told the scouts he was proud of their hard work and advised them do everything in life with purpose and be excellent. He also asked them to be fair and just, as it was a hallmark of a “good person.”

Cohen told the students that scouting provides a blueprint for their lives.

“I hope you continue in scouting because if you see some of these individuals who move up and become Eagle Scouts, these are most likely going to be leaders of the future,” Cohen said.
