East Brunswick Schools Name Jamie Richardson As Next Director Of Secondary Education

Richardson was chosen from 36 candidates to fill the role being vacated by the retiring Director. His appointment was approved unanimously.

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ - The East Brunswick Board of Education unanimously approved Jamie Richardson as the district's next Director of Secondary Education at its June 4 meeting. He will be filling a role that will be vacated when current director Kristin Che retires in August.

Richardson's appointment will be effective Aug. 1. The position is a 12-month administrative role with a salary of $170,000. He holds a School Administrator certificate from Montclair State University.

Superintendent Evelyn Mamman presented Richardson's appointment to the board, noting that 36 candidates had applied for the position. Richardson was selected following a multi-round interview process conducted by Mamman and her team alongside Assistant Superintendent Tibbets. Richardson currently serves as a director of curriculum and instruction.

"It brings me a great deal of confidence to put before you Jamie Richardson for our next director of secondary education," Mamman told the board. She also noted that Richardson's background includes experience in special education.

The board voted unanimously in favor of the appointment.
