“It’s actually dangerous to some degree because of the ripples in the turf,” Zimbicki said.

Currently, there’s no timeline yet for replacing the synthetic turf.

The field was initially built with the intention of being used by people with disabilities and other athletic groups in the community, Zimbicki said.

“The field is going to be redone to accommodate the older age groups of baseball and softball players,” Zimbicki said. “It is definitely one of the most well-used facilities in our community.”

The resolution was adopted unanimously.
