Electrical Device Used To Save Suicidal Man In Middlesex County
Woodbridge police saved the life of a knife-wielding suicidal man as he urged them to shoot him.

With the help of a non-lethal electronic device, Woodbridge police saved the life of a knife-wielding suicidal man as he urged authorities to shoot him Tuesday evening.
The “Conducted Energy Device” is an approved method for police to temporarily disable a person in certain situations by firing electrode darts attached by wire, according to nj.com.
Police responded to the call around 4:30 p.m. and found the man, in his mid-twenties, had cut himself several times before he emerged from his Hopelawn home and began walking down Florida Grove Road, periodically holding the knife up to his neck.
