We would like to invite you to support an exciting local event in May 2011 to benefit the Stomp the Monster Foundation.

The Stomp the Monster 5K will be Central Jersey’s most festive run this spring! Included in the festivities will be a 5K run, 1 mile health walk, kids races, food and drinks, a DJ, and plenty of family fun. The event is scheduled to take place on Sunday May 15, 2011 at the Marlboro, NJ recreation center. We are expecting people from all over the region with all different athletic abilities to help fundraise and support the Stomp the Monster Foundation.  This will be a USATF sanctioned event on a certified course. The race not only supports cancer patients and their families, but also promotes a healthy lifestyle.

Stomp the Monster ™ provides financial and other support to cancer patients, their families, and caregivers in the tri-state area [NJ, NY, & PA] when they need it most – during their fight with the disease.  We promote a healthy lifestyle with proper diet and exercise as well as provide funding for potential advances in prevention and treatment.

An example of whom we are trying to help is Susan, a 44 year old mother of 3 and cancer patient for the past 18 months. Why can’t she get into NYC to see one of the best oncologists in the world?  Her husband has taken too many days off from work and can’t afford to continue to attend the grueling, 8 hour chemotherapy treatments. Karen will continue to endure through the treatments by herself while her husband works to support the family.

Seth Grumet, the founder of the Stomp the Monster Foundation, sits next to Karen every other Monday, while receiving chemotherapy himself.  Seth was diagnosed with Lymphoma at the age of 39, in the best shape of his life, just 7 weeks before he was supposed to compete in an Ironman Triathlon.  He resides in Marlboro, NJ with 3 kids and a caring wife.  Since his diagnosis, his friends and family have become an amazing support system, which allowed Seth to just focus on fighting his battle with cancer.  Instead of feeling sorry for himself, he became inspired to help others who are not as fortunate as he, and may not have the support that could really help their chance of survival.  He started the Stomp the Monster Foundation with the goal of improving the quality of life for others. 

To be successful, this event of over 750 participants depends upon sponsorships from area businesses and organizations.  We invite you to help by sponsoring this event or by donating goods to our reception.  We have a number of sponsorship opportunities available with numerous benefits, all of which are detailed in the enclosed attachment.
