Expect Helicopters Over East Brunswick For Transmission Inspection
Chesapeake Bay Helicopters will perform transmission lines for about four to five days.
EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ - Residents may see helicopters flying close to transmission lines in East Brunswick on Wednesday, but there's no need to be alarmed.
Chesapeake Bay Helicopters will perform UV/IR patrols on transmission lines starting on Wednesday, the township said.
“The purpose of a UV/IR patrol is to detect any overheated transmission line components or arcing that isn’t otherwise visible to the naked eye,” township officials said in a statement.

The inspections are expected to be completed in four to five days. The work is also weather dependent and completion times may vary, officials said.
