Fatal Accident In East Brunswick Friday Morning

Breaking: Initial reports​ are saying that a car collided with a pole at the corner of Ryders Lane and Corona Road. One person was killed.

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — A car accident near Tices Lane and Ryders Lane that East Brunswick police initially warned was very serious has turned out to be fatal Friday morning.

The accident occurred sometime around 7 a.m. at the beginning of the morning rush hour in what is a very congested area, particularly during the AM and PM rush hours. Initial reports are saying that a car collided with a pole at the corner of Ryders Lane and Corona Road. Ryders Lane northbound near the intersection of Tices Lane is closed.

Please plan alternate routes of travel, and avoid the area. Avoid the area of Washington Avenue at Ryders Lane at least until noon, Milltown police warn. Ryders Lane northbound is shut down. There is heavy congestion in the area and there will be back-ups and delays until at least midday, they said.
