Felony Lane Gang Arrests At East Brunswick Provident Bank

Three people suspected of being in a Florida-based gang that steals bank information were arrested at the Provident Bank on Rues Lane.

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — Three people who are suspected of being in a Florida-based gang that steals bank information were arrested in East Brunswick earlier this month. And police say it was a quick-thinking employee at the local Provident Bank who helped lead to their arrests.

The arrests occurred at the Provident Bank in the Rues Lane shopping center on Thursday, Feb. 15. At 3 p.m. that day, an employee who worked at the bank called police to report that a woman in a black SUV was attempting to cash a fraudulent check at the drive-up teller window.

When police got to the bank, they approached the female driver, identified as Cynthia Wright, 50, of Caldwell, Texas, who immediately fled the area, striking the building of the bank as she did. Police chased the car, and Wright was driving in an extremely reckless manner to get away. However, she eventually had to stop after she got a flat tire. Wright and her passenger, Claude Eugene, 32, of Houston, Texas, were apprehended on Racetrack Rd. and Rodney Rd.

East Brunswick police linked those two, plus a third person, Cornelius Renrick, 26, of Boyton Beach, Florida, with similar incidents of bank fraud in Monroe Twp. and Spotswood: Monroe police said they had a similar bank fraud also on Feb. 15 as well as an attempted bank fraud in Spotswood.

All three are suspected to be members or associates of the Felony Lane Gang, a widely-known Ft. Lauderdale gang that steals personal bank information. You can read more about law enforcement's ongoing work with the Felony Lane Gang here: https://www.facebook.com/Felon...
