Firefighters Battling Strip Club On Fire In Sayreville
The fire has now risen to five-alarm status and smoke can be seen from miles away, according to EMTs and media reports on Twitter.
SAYREVILLE, NJ — Firefighters are currently battling a large working fire in the area of Rt. 9 north/Rt. 35 in Sayreville Friday afternoon, the town announced in a Nixle alert.
The fire is at the 35 XXXV Gentlemen's Club, located in area of Chevalier Avenue and Old Rt. 4, according to Sayreville EMTs at the scene.
The fire has now risen to five-alarm status and smoke can be seen from miles away, according to the all-volunteer Sayreville EMS squad and media reports on Twitter. There are no reported injuries at this time, according to Sayreville EMS.

Drivers are being asked to avoid that area of Rt. 35/Rt. 9 and the ramp from Rt 9/35 N onto Old Rt 4 (Chevalier Ave, Main St So Amboy) is closed, say Sayreville police.
Additionally, one lane of traffic is also closed. Please avoid the entire area, say Sayreville police.
