Hammer Murder Suspect Found in North Brunswick

A man who allegedly beat his girlfriend and her daughter to death with a hammer was found sleeping in his car in North Brunswick.

North Brunswick, NJ - A man who allegedly beat his girlfriend and her daughter to death with a hammer was found sleeping in his car Saturday in North Brunswick.

The manner in which the two women died is still under investigation but neighbors are saying Ramon Cadiz, 51, allegedly covered the victims’ heads with pillowcases and bashed them in with hammer.

Neighbors have identified the victims as Cadiz’s girlfriend and her 15-year-old daughter who attended school in Bridgewater-Raritan. Their dead bodies were found Friday in Raritan.

A neighbor who wished to remain anonymous also stated the girlfriend allegedly had a restraining order against Cadiz.

“The daughter hated Ray and they were looking to move to Florida without him,” the neighbor said.

Neighbors reported the young girl hadn’t been in school all week and other neighbors had called the police to investigate after reporting a smell coming from the home.

He was arrested at 4 a.m. Saturday in North Brunswick, where police found him sleeping in his vehicle. Cadiz has killed before and was allowed early release from state prison, according to MyCentralJersey.com. He was sentenced to 25 years in prison for stabbing a man to death in a bar fight in Vineland, but was released just eight years later.
