Man Threatened To Use Hammer In East Brunswick Road Rage: Cops

A South Amboy man allegedly threatened to use a hammer on another driver during an East Brunswick road rage incident this past Sunday.

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — A man allegedly threatened to use a hammer on another driver during an East Brunswick road rage incident this past Sunday, Sept. 2, police said.

The 52-year-old South Amboy man threatened to use the hammer, but didn't actually assault anybody with it, police said.

East Brunswick police were called to Cranbury Road and Ryders Lane on Sunday for a 911 call about a road rage incident. The 911 dispatcher warned that a weapon may have been displayed. When police got there, they found two cars pulled over and the drivers arguing on the roadway.

Patrol units quickly determined the weapon in question was a hammer. Police say Frank Jazikoff, 52, of South Amboy had threatened the other parties involved with the hammer but did not assault anyone.

Jazikoff was placed under arrest and charged with possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of a weapon.

He was released pending a court date.
