Handgun, Cocaine Seized From South River Home, Police Say
Police raided a home on Ferry Street July 6 and said they found a gun and 33 grams of cocaine and marijuana.

SOUTH RIVER, NJ — South River police and members of the Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Squad with the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office raided a South River home earlier this month and recovered large amounts of cocaine, marijuana and a handgun, they said.
At approximately 6:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 6, members of the South River police executed a court-approved search warrant at a residence on Ferry Street. South River detectives said they had been monitoring the home for a while as part of an ongoing drug investigation.
A search of the home revealed over 33 grams of cocaine, along with marijuana, police said. Additionally, a .32 caliber semi-automatic handgun was recovered. Two residents, identified as Manuel Hernandez-Riano, 34, and Amanda Cannon, 29, were arrested and charged with the guns and drugs offenses.

Additionally, another resident, Baltazar Alavez, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams.
