Hemophilia 5K Run In East Brunswick This Saturday
This year's fundraiser is especially crucial as organizers attempt to recover from canceled events due to COVID-19.
EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — The Hemophilia Association of New Jersey is hosting a 5K run and 1 mile walk on Saturday to raise funds and awareness about the disease.
Participants should gather at the Community Arts Center, 721 Cranbury Road. On-site registration opens at 8 a.m. and the race begins at 9 a.m.
Walkers, runners, and volunteers will raise awareness about hemophilia and seek funds to help the Hemophilia Association provides assistance to the hemophilia community.

Hemophilia is a bleeding disorder in which the blood does not clot properly and can lead to spontaneous bleeding as well as bleeding following injuries or surgery, according to the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention. Death can occur if the bleeding cannot be stopped or if it occurs in a vital organ.
