Juneteenth Event Canceled In East Brunswick Due To Weather Forecast

Gusty winds and heavy downpours is on the forecast for this weekend, according to the National Weather Service.

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ - The annual Juneteenth/Lost Souls Celebration scheduled for this weekend in the township, has been canceled due to forecasted weather.

The 'Recitation of Names' event was scheduled to take place Saturday, 11 a.m. at the Community Arts Center. No new date for the event has been announced yet by the township.

Gusty winds, heavy downpours with localized flash flooding are as storms are slated to hit New Jersey this weekend, forecasters said.

The storm system is set to exit the Garden State late Sunday, though more wet weather is expected through Wednesday.
