Mushroom tea? Hear certified mushroom expert Garrett Kopp and have a taste of chaga tea

EAST BRUNSWICK – Garrett Kopp first learned about the nutritional benefits of chaga mushrooms from his grandmother, who made tea from them. His curiosity led him to research these and other forest fungi. He soon become a certified Mushroom Identification Expert in New York State and developed a marketable product– all by the age of 21.

Kopp will discuss the fascinating and colorful world of mushrooms found in this region and offer a tasting of authentic chaga tea at the East Brunswick Public Library, 2 Jean Walling Civic Center, at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 10. The program is free and open to the public.

The lecture is part of the award-winning Option Green Lecture Series offered by the Friends of the East Brunswick Environmental Commission (FriendsEBEC) in partnership with the library to bring lectures on
environmental issues, the natural world, conservation and sustainability to the community.
