Loaded, Illegal Gun Found in East Brunswick Car

East Brunswick, NJ - Last Wednesday, at 10:15 p.m., East Brunswick police officer Patrick Lem pulled over a 2003 Silver Hyundai Elantra off Rt. 18 north onto Arthur Street.

He stopped the car for a motor vehicle violation, but a subsequent search of the Hyundai revealed a Smith and Wesson .38 Special CTG Revolver, which was loaded with five (5) Super Velocity .38 Special Hollow nose bullets. Officer Lem searched the vehicle after he ran both the occupants' names — Marquan Parker, 22, and Julian Musa, 22, both of Plainfield — and found they both had active warrants.

Parker, a convicted felon, was charged with Unlawful Possession of Weapon, Possession of Hollow Point Bullets and Certain Persons not to have Weapons. He was transported to the Middlesex County Adult Correctional Center in lieu of a $75,000 bail.
