Local Author Day At East Brunswick Public Library Oct. 16

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ - The public library is hosting a celebration of local authors on Sunday, Oct. 16 at 1 p.m. in person and online.

The afternoon will also include author signings and four panels, led by host Stephanie Sendaula.

Sendaula is a librarian and writer, who works in community engagement and outreach, and enjoys finding a book for every reader. She has led author panel discussions for state and national organizations.

“We have known that our community is home or the birthplace of many authors, and we want to be able to celebrate them and their works,” says Melissa Hozik, Adult Programming Librarian. “We have self-published and traditionally published authors in the genres of fiction, history, autobiography, culinary, and young adult/children.

  • “Creating Powerful Personal Narratives” at 1 p.m., with Geeta Gwalani, Carol Selick, and Diane Uniman (aka Princess Diane von Brainisfried)
  • “Writing for Children and Teens” at 1:50 p.m., with Rachelle Burk, Jen Doktorski, and Joe Rutch
  • “Embracing Local History and Folklore” at 2:40 p.m., with Angus Kress Gillespie, Mark Nonsteid, Ethan Reiss, and Neal Stoffers
  • “Mastering the Art of the Story” at 3:20 p.m., with Deborah S. Greenhut and Harry Marks.
