Major East Brunswick Intersection Closed Thurs., Fri. Nights

Breaking: The Rues Lane/New Brunswick Ave. intersection will be closed 9 p.m.-7 a.m. tonight and Friday, Sept. 1.

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — Heads up: The intersection of Rues Lane and New Brunswick Avenue will be shut down Thursday and Friday nights, Aug. 31 and Sept. 1, for paving.

On or about Thursday, August 31 and Friday, September 1, the Rues Lane/New Brunswick Ave. intersection will be closed between the hours of 9:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m., East Brunswick police said. Detours will be posted and police traffic directors will be assisting. The paving work will be done in the overnight hours.

That entrance to the Civic Center shopping center, which has the CVS, Sandy’s, East Brunswick Chinese restaurant, 7/11, etc., will be closed. Access to the shopping center will be open from Cranbury Road during the closure.

This is one of the most heavily trafficked intersections in East Brunswick Township and the road needs to be milled and repaved, East Brunswick police said.
