Menlo Park Gymboree Closing, Company Announces

Breaking: The Menlo Park store is one of seven Gymborees slated to close across the state, and 350 nationwide.

EDISON, NJ — The Gymboree store in the Menlo Park mall in Edison will be closing, the company announced Wednesday.

The Menlo Park Gymboree is one of seven Gymboree children's clothing stores across New Jersey that have been slated for closure. They full list is: Monmouth Mall in Eatontown, Menlo Park in Edison, The Shoppes at Riverside in Hackensack, The Shoppes at Hamilton in Hamilton (Mercer County), Hamilton Mall in the Mays Landing section of Hamilton (Atlantic County), Route 35 in Sea Girt and the Gymboree on Morris Turnpike in the Short Hills section of Millburn. This is part of 350 Gymboree stores across the country that will be shut down.

But in an added bonus for shoppers, there will be the closing sales in the company's affected Gymboree, Gymboree Outlet and Crazy 8 stores, the company said. The closing sales at affected stores are scheduled to begin next Tuesday, July 18. In 2007, a horrific shooting-suicide took place inside the Menlo Park Gymboree: A 23-year-old man shot his ex-girlfriend, who was an employee at the store.
