Middlesex Co. Parks Seeking Volunteers This Spring For Beach, Trail, Conservation Events
3 outdoor volunteer opportunities are available from April through June at parks across Middlesex County. Registration is required.
MIDDLESEX COUNTY, NJ — Middlesex County residents looking to give back this spring have three opportunities to volunteer with the county's Office of Parks and Recreation, with events scheduled from April through June at parks across the county.
Registration is required for all events. Volunteers can sign up by contacting Conservation Corps Coordinator Julia DeRosso at 732-745-8147 or julia.derosso@co.middlesex.nj.us.
The first event, a Beach Sweep with Clean Ocean Action, takes place April 11 from 9 a.m. to noon at Raritan Bay Waterfront Park, 201 John T. O'Leary Blvd., South Amboy. The cleanup is part of a statewide shoreline conservation effort.

On May 16 from 9 a.m. to noon, volunteers can participate in a Spring Spruce Up at Thompson Park, Forsgate Drive, Monroe Township. In partnership with Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Middlesex County, volunteers will work on the park's rain garden, shoreline restoration project and hiking trails.
The final event, National Trails Day, is scheduled for June 6 from 9 a.m. to noon at Ireland Brook Conservation Area, 581 Riva Ave., East Brunswick. Volunteers will assist with trail maintenance, invasive species removal and ongoing restoration projects.
