Middlesex County Man Charged In Mother's Murder: Prosecutor

The Middlesex County Prosecutors said the woman's adult son suffocated her over the weekend.

OLD BRIDGE, NJ— An Old Bridge man has been charged with murdering his mother over the weekend, Middlesex County Prosecutor Andrew C. Carey said.

Frank Polera, 30, was arrested on Sunday for murdering his mother, 61-year-old Patricia Polera, on Saturday, in the home the two shared.

Police responded to the home on Saturday just before 9:00 p.m., and pronounced the mother dead at the scene. Carey said an investigation showed the son caused his mother's death.

The Middlesex County Medical Examiner's office said she died from asphyxiation by compression.
