Middlesex County Man Fell Asleep at Traffic Light, Drugs Found in Car, Police Say

He was under the influence of narcotics, and fell asleep at a traffic light in East Brunswick, police said.

East Brunswick, NJ - On Tuesday evening, East Brunswick police said they found a man who had fallen asleep at a traffic light, and recovered large amounts of marijuana, Alprazalom and Oxycodone in his car.

The driver was also found to be under the influence of narcotics, police said.

Ptl. Daniel Werner first noticed the car on Harts Lane near Tices Lane. The driver, Mark Windsor, 27 of East Brunswick, had fallen asleep while stopped at the traffic signal at 11 p.m.

During the stop, Werner detected the odor of raw marijuana emanating from the vehicle and subsequently searched the car. He found 50 grams of marijuana, as well as the anti-anxiety drug Alprazolam and Oxycodone pills, he said.

Windsor was found to be under the influence of narcotics, police said. He was charged with driving while intoxicated, being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of marijuana over 50 grams, as well as other charges. He was held on a $10,000 bail.
