Mosquito Spraying Scheduled In East Brunswick, Milltown Wednesday

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ - The Middlesex County Mosquito Extermination Commission will conduct truck-based ultra-low volume (ULV) spraying for adult mosquitoes in East Brunswick and Milltown on Wednesday, Aug. 5, from 6 p.m. to 11:59 p.m., weather permitting. The rain date is Friday, Aug. 7.

The treatment will target areas off Lawrence Brook and Farrington Lake.

Crews will use Zenivex E4, EPA registration number 2724-807, according to the commission. The application is being conducted in compliance with sections 9.10 and 9.15 of the New Jersey Pesticide Control Code, N.J.A.C. Title 7, Chapter 30, and will follow product labeling instructions.

The commission recommends residents take several precautions during spraying, including staying indoors with windows closed, keeping air conditioners set to non-vent mode, bringing pets, children's toys and outdoor items inside, and avoiding contact with wet surfaces until they have dried, typically about an hour.

Residents who experience symptoms they believe are related to the spraying are advised to consult a doctor. Those with chemical sensitivities or pre-existing health conditions can consult their physician or local health department before the application.

Updated spray schedule information is available on the commission's website. Residents can request at least 12 hours' notice ahead of an application, except in cases of quarantine or disease vector control.
