MVA at Old Bridge Turnpike and Main Street Causes Heavy Traffic in East Brunswick

East Brunswick, NJ - A motor vehicle crash has caused heavy traffic in the area of Main Street and Old Bridge Turnpike in East Brunswick, police said.

A tractor trailer pulled down a pole and wires at the intersection. There are no injuries. As of 1 p.m. there are serious delays in the area and drivers are asked to avoid the area.

Main Street is expected to reopen before 4 p.m.; however Old Bridge Turnpike will remain closed between Main Street and Pine Street for the next several hours until emergency repairs are completed. Additionally, due to a loss of power, the traffic signal at the intersection of Rt. 18 and Hillsdale Road is not functioning. As a result, cross traffic will not be permitted at this junction.
