New Lidl Grocery Store Proposed For Rt. 18 East Brunswick
The Planning Board is expected to discuss the application on Dec. 8

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — A new Lidl Grocery store has been proposed for Route 18 in East Brunswick.
The German discount retail chain is seeking preliminary and final site plan approval to demolish the existing building and construct a new 31,042 square foot grocery store
The site is located at 651 Route 18, Block 18, Lot 4.17 in the HC-2 (General Highway Commercial) Zone, according to the Planning Board application. The property was formerly occupied by Unclaimed Freight.

The grocery store also has an application pending in Edison Township. In Middlesex County, Lidl has existing grocery stores in Woodbridge and North Brunswick.
The retail chain has around 11,200 stores in 32 countries and employs more than 310,000 people globally. They have over 100 stores in nine states across the East Coast.
