Oxy Sale at Best Western in East Brunswick, Police Say

Police said they caught two men selling marijuana and prescription painkillers in the parking lot of the Best Western motel on Rt. 18.

East Brunswick, NJ - On Friday, April 22, police said they caught two men selling marijuana and prescription painkillers in the parking lot of the Best Western motel on Rt. 18.

Anti-Crime Detectives said they observed Matthew Baxter, 40, from New Brunswick, involved in a narcotics transaction with Michael Wasserman, 36, of East Brunswick. Detectives stopped them and seized four ounces of marijuana, oxycodone and other prescription pills, as well as more than $2,500 in cash.

Baxter’s vehicle was also seized. Baxter was arrested and charged with distribution of marijuana, distribution in a school zone and possession of marijuana over 50 grams. Wasserman was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession with intent to distribute in a school zone, possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
