Planning Board Approves East Brunswick Temple Expansion Plan: Report

The expansion plan includes a new place of worship and a nursery school.

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — The East Brunswick Planning Board has approved an expansion request by the Sadhu Vaswani Center, according to a media report.

The temple, located on Ryders Lane and Perry Road, proposes to demolish the existing structure to build a place of worship and a nursery school.

The Planning Board approved the plan with members, Mayor Brad Cohen, Council President James Wendell and Steve Phillips voting against it, reported MyCentralJersey.com.

The temple's application has been on review for a long time and several township residents have opposed the expansion plan citing traffic concerns and the size of the proposed buildings.

The property is located in the R3 residential zone.
