Police: Off-Campus Armed Robbery Under Investigation In New Brunswick

New Brunswick police are investigating a knifepoint robbery near the corner of Louis Street and Central Avenue, according to Rutgers police.

New Brunswick police are investigating a knifepoint robbery that occurred last week, near the corner of Louis Street and Central Avenue, according to an alert from Rutgers police.

According to that alert:

Around 2:10 a.m. Thursday, the victims, who are affiliated with Rutgers University, were walking down the street when they were approached by four male teens.

Each of the four robbers were armed with knives and they demanded the victims’ wallets.

After stealing “items of value,’’ the robbers ran away, down Central Avenue, toward Dix Street. No one was injured.

The robbers were described as four black males, who were 15- to 18-years-old, with thin builds. They ranged in height from approximately 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall.

The New Brunswick Police Department is handling the investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call the New Brunswick Police Department Detective Bureau at 732-745-5217.
