Four victims, who are all male Rutgers students between the ages of 19- and 21-years-old, were in the home when the robbers came inside.
Three of the victims told police that three robbers entered the house through an unlocked back door, then went into the bedrooms and demanded money.

One of the robbers, who was tall and skinny, punched one of the victims in the face. Another robber, described as tall, with a medium build, took a significant amount of cash from a bedroom dresser.
The young man who was punched did not suffer a serious injury.
All three robbers then left the house, and got into two vehicles, which sped away.
During the robbery, the fourth victim was in the bathroom and did not witness anything.
But once detectives arrived at the house, they realized that a significant amount of time had passed between the actual robbery and the time that it was reported.
One of the victims was intoxicated and high as he spoke with the detectives. That victim told police he’d consumed liquor and ingested Molly, which is a form of Ecstasy, earlier that evening. The preliminary investigation suggests his recent Molly purchase and the home invasion are connected.
The robbers were described as:
A tall, skinny black male, who wore a black, hooded sweatshirt with white laces, and sweatpants.
A tall, black male, with a medium build. He also wore a black, hooded sweatshirt and sweatpants.
A short, light-skinned male, who may have been of Indian, Hispanic, or Middle Eastern decent. He also wore a black, hooded sweatshirt and sweatpants.
One of the vehicles was described as a black, four-door Honda or Acura and the other was a blue or black four-door vehicle.
Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Kenneth Abode at (732) 745-5217.
