Police Investigating Home Invasion Robbery Of Rutgers Students
New Brunswick police say they believe the home was targeted by the robber because of cash and drugs inside certain parts of the house.

An armed robber targeted the home of Rutgers fraternity members early Tuesday morning because of cash and drugs inside certain parts of the home, police said.
The initial investigation suggests the robber “had prior knowledge of the drug activity in the house and targeted that location for those proceeds,’’ a news release from New Brunswick Police Capt. J.T. Miller said.
No one was injured in the home invasion on Robinson Street, where members of the Rutgers University TKE fraternity live, according to Miller.

When police arrived, the robber had already fled.
The victims described the robber as a light-skinned black male, who wore dark clothing, and brandished a handgun. His direction of flight is unknown.
Detectives have determined that the robber targeted the house for the amount of cash and drugs inside, Miller said in the news release.
During the investigation, detectives saw large quantities of cash, along with drugs and drug paraphernalia in some areas of the house, the news release said.
Police also said the victims’ initial reluctance to cooperate has slowed the investigation.
Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Dave Smith at (732) 745- 5217.
Police said criminal charges may be filed against the victims or residents of the home, pending further investigation.
