Two teen have been charged with setting a fire at an elementary school playground in East Brunswick, police said.

Two teen have been charged with setting a fire at an elementary school playground in East Brunswick, police said.

According to a news release from police:

On June 5, East Brunswick police and members of the East Brunswick Fire Department, District 1, were called to Irwin Elementary School, 75 Racetrack Road.

Wood chips in the playground area were on fire. Firefighters extinguished the flames.

Patrolmen Nicholas Mauro and Jason Fama handled the investigation, and they charged two boys, ages 15- and 17-years-old, with criminal mischief.

They were released to family members.
