Rabid Raccoon Found In East Brunswick April 28
The animal was "displaying neurological symptoms near a resident's home" in the vicinity of Washington Avenue and Port Street.

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — The Middlesex County Office of Health Services is reporting that a raccoon tested positive for rabies in East Brunswick, in the vicinity of Washington Avenue and Port Street.
This is the fifth rabid animal reported within Middlesex County for 2018 and the first rabid animal in East Brunswick so far this year.
On Saturday, April 28, the Animal Control Officer for East Brunswick Twp. responded to a call of a raccoon displaying neurological symptoms near a resident's home. The raccoon was euthanized and subsequently sent to the New Jersey Department of Health Laboratory for testing. Lab results came back Wednesday, May 2 that the animal tested positive for rabies.

There are no known human or domestic animal exposures to the raccoon.
