RWJ University Hospital Leases Rt. 18 Property In East Brunswick

The Rt. 18 location will be home to multiple medical practices expected to open in 2023, according to real estate company TFE Properties.

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital has leased 35,000 square feet at Junction Pointe in East Brunswick, according to real estate company TFE Properties.

The company has also leased 17,000 square feet to Children’s Specialized Hospital. Junction Pointe on Route 18 is at the site of the former East Brunswick Kmart, which has been under the township’s redevelopment plan.

According to the real estate company, the location will be home to multiple medical practices that are expected to open in the second or third quarter of 2023. The lease was signed this past spring, the company said.

Mayor Brad Cohen said he was thrilled that the medical facilities were coming to the Rt. 18 location and “joining the large medical corridor that has flourished here in East Brunswick.”

Carey Tajfel, President of TFE Properties, said the company was “excited” to help bring cutting-edge new medical facilities to East Brunswick.

“We expect that these medical offices will thrive in centrally located, high-demand areas. Plus, hospital and healthcare tenants are strong long-term tenants, as our communities will always need medical care. This sector is resilient in the face of fads and trends,” Tajfel said.

Current tenants at the Route 18 location include CubeSmart Self Storage, Crunch Fitness, The Clothing Center, Investors Bank, and Xfinity.

“East Brunswick Township is a great place to do business,” Tajfel said. “They work with both developers and tenants, and the town’s commitment to fostering retail and multi-family development is sure to be a boon for business interests and for the community at large.”
