School Supplies Drive For Kids In Need Begins In East Brunswick
Donations will be accepted until Aug. 12, at the township's Recreation Department.
EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — The Interfaith Clergy Council and the township are collecting school supplies to help community children in need, as they prepare to return to school later this year.
Here's a list of items that are needed:
- Colored pencils
- Pens
- Highlighters
- Washable markers
- Looseleaf paper
- Spiral notebooks
- Marble notebooks
- 24 -count crayons
- Glue sticks
- 1-inch binders
Gift cards or checks are also accepted and the Recreation Department will use them to make purchases as needed.

Gift cards or checks can be dropped off in the drop box outside the Recreation Department front door and other supplies can be placed inside the white truck in the parking lot with the big sign next to it.
The door to the truck is shut to keep the weather and wildlife out, but the door can be opened to place the donation inside.

Recreation and truck are located at 334 Dunhams Corner Road. Donations will be accepted until Aug. 12, so that the department has enough time to prepare the kits ahead of students' return to school in September.
