The Raritan Valley YMCA (www.raritanvalleyymca.org) has teamed up with the Middlesex County Office of Aging & Disabled Services at 732-745-3295 to increase public awareness of services and opportunities for county seniors, the disabled, and their care givers.

Senior adults and the disabled need to keep moving throughout the winter months. Put on your mask and get going! Doing so maintains physical and mental wellness, and prevents illness. Despite COVID, there are several indoor options that can be safe. Try walking mall halls or large department stores. wear a mask, sanitize and stay clear of other people and touching surfaces. Try virtual or pre-recorded programs found on line, TV, or in DVDs. For those a bit more adventurous or active, find a non busy time of day and book an hour at a bowling alley, tennis club, or exercise club or dance studio.

Try the Y for a scheduled weekly activity, class or drop in exercise. The Y also has a virtual membership which affords one exercise classes at home! It's a great way to better your mood and increase your confidence. Exercise melts stress away too.
